In a small conference room at the courthouse, a shackled Janice is led in by a guard and finds Don sitting at the table. “Donny, you came!” Janice exclaims. “I told you I would.” Don notes. “I know you did, I just…I wasn’t sure if you’d change your mind. I wouldn’t blame you if you did, after all the awful, awful stuff I’ve put you through.” Janice says. “I’m not gonna change my mind, ma. I told you that I would speak up for you today and that is exactly what I am going to do.” Don says. “Thank you.” Janice says. The door opens and Reagan walks in. “Chief Reynolds, what an unexpected surprise.” Reagan says. “You two know each other?” Janice asks. “Oh yeah, Miss. Thorne and I see quite a bit of each other down at the station.” Don says. “I guess the two of you having the same last name wasn’t just a coincidence after all. When Miss. Reynolds here hired me, I did make the connection, but Reynolds is such a common last name, I assumed there was no relation.” Reagan says. “You’re my mother’s attorney?” Don asks. “I hear she’s a rising star in the courtroom! Pretty soon, this girl will be giving her aunt a run for her money!” Janice says. “Thanks for the praise, but I’m pretty sure I’ve already surpassed her.” Reagan claims. “No comment.” Don says. “Anyways, before we begin, are we absolutely clear on what’s going on today?” Reagan asks. “Absolutely. The judge is gonna want to hear my case, and be convinced that I’m well enough to be released.” Janice says. “And if the judge does decide you are able to leave Colossal Heights, he’s gonna want someone to take responsibility for you.” Reagan says. “I’ve already spoken to my mother about it and I’ve agreed to let her come and live with me if she is released.” Don says. “Perfect. I assume you’ll be speaking up for her today as well?” Reagan asks. “I will.” Don confirms. “What do you think my chances of being released are?” Janice questions. “Obviously I can’t be 100% certain, but given that you have the support of your psychiatrist and your son, who also happens to be chief of detectives at the Fantastic P.D, I’d say your chances are looking good.” Reagan says. “I’m happy to hear that. I’m still really nervous though.” Janice notes. “Well don’t be. I’m confident that everything is going to work out in your favor today, Miss. Reynolds.” Reagan says.

At Slate Gray, Virginia is sitting in her office, behind her desk, when there is a knock at the door. “Come in!” Virginia calls out. The door opens and Bethany walks in. “Hey, you busy?” Bethany asks. “Hi there! I thought you left with Kaylie!” Virginia says. “I walked Kaylie to her car, but once the coast was clear, I came straight back.” Bethany says. “Once the coast was clear? You trying to hide something from my baby?” Virginia asks. “I guess you could say that. I needed to talk to you privately.” Bethany says. “Come on in, have a seat.” Virginia urges. Bethany walks in and sits across from Virginia. “So tell me, what’s on your mind?” Virginia questions. “Quite a bit, actually. I’ve been thinking a lot since we had breakfast earlier.” Bethany tells her. “About what?” Virginia wonders. “Me and Kaylie, our relationship.” Bethany says. “Oh lord, you don’t plan on breaking up with her, do you?” Virginia asks. “What? No! Of course not! I love Kaylie way too much to ever end things with her! I…I love her more than anything.” Bethany says. “I know that, I was just messing with you. But clearly something is occupying your mind, you wanna tell me what that something is?” Virginia asks. “Do you really think Kaylie and I are ready for marriage?” Bethany wonders. “Oh my god! You’re planning on proposing!” Virginia realizes. “I’m not planning anything yet! I’m just trying to figure out if that’s a step she and I are ready to take. You were the one who brought it up earlier, that’s why I thought I’d come by and run it by you.” Bethany says. “Bethany, I never would’ve brought it up if I didn’t think you and Kaylie were ready for it! All you two gotta do is look at each other and it’s obvious how madly in love you are! But at the end of the day, it’s not about what I think, it’s about what you two want. Do you want to marry Kaylie?” Virginia asks. “After thinking about it for a little bit, I think that I do. I’m just not sure if Kaylie wants the same thing.” Bethany says. “Well there’s only one way to find out for sure. You gotta propose to her and see what she says!” Virginia tells Bethany.

At Baronville, Lydia returns to her cell and finds Zoey reading a book. “You were gone for quite a while.” Zoey comments. “What are you, timing my visits now?” Lydia asks. Zoey closes her book. “Well I don’t have much else to do in this dump, now do I? So who was it? Was it Lucas?” Zoey wonders. “No, unfortunately. It was the District Attorney.” Lydia says. “The District Attorney! What could she want?” Zoey asks. “Not that it’s any of your concern, but she was looking to make a deal. She wanted me to plead guilty and in exchange, I would get a twenty five year prison sentence with the possibility of parole in fifteen.” Lydia reveals. “That isn’t a bad deal when you’re facing a first degree murder charge.” Zoey says. “It’s a bad deal when you’re innocent!” Lydia argues. “As I’m sure you are, right darling?” Zoey sarcastically asks. “I am innocent! I may have shot Mia, but it was in self defense! Now I realize you despise me, but I would think you would know I’m telling the truth after dealing with Mia yourself!” Lydia says. “I did deal with Mia myself, which is why I could understand if you finally snapped and decided to off her. No one could blame you if you did, except for maybe the legal system that is. I guess their opinion is really the only one that matters, isn’t it? My goodness, you really are screwed.” Zoey says. “Why did I bother talking to you about this?” Lydia wonders. “Why indeed? You know, for what it’s worth, I really do hope you are acquitted. I would hate to have to listen to you every day for the duration of my sentence about how you were unfairly convicted. I hear enough of that from the other inmates.” Zoey says. “Don’t worry, you won’t have to deal with me for much longer because I am going to be found innocent, I’m going to be released, and you’re still going to be stuck in here.” Lydia says. “Sure love, you keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep at night.” Zoey says. The guard walks up to their cell. “Masters, you have a visitor.” The guard says. “Well aren’t you a popular gal!” Zoey says. “Who is it? Is it my fiance?” Lydia asks. “It’s the police commissioner.” The guard reveals. “Rebecca? What could she want?” Lydia wonders. The guard opens the door and escorts Lydia out. Once Lydia is gone, Zoey turns to face the cell door. “The police commissioner, hm? That conversation sounds like it may be too interesting to just ignore.” Zoey mutters.

In the visiting room, Lydia is led in and finds Rebecca sitting at the table. “Rebecca, this is quite the surprise.” Lydia says. “Hi Lydia. How are you doing?” Rebecca asks. Lydia sits across from Rebecca. “About as well as could be expected. You deal with enough convicts where I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that prison isn’t a walk in the park.” Lydia says. “I’m sure. I’m sorry you have to go through this. For what it’s worth, I believe you when you say you shot Mia Goo in self defense.” Rebecca says. “Thank you. Now I just have to hope that the judge believes me at my trial, which isn’t looking good right now. Is that why you’re here? To discuss my case? If you had more questions about Mia’s shooting, I figured you would have sent a detective to question me.” Lydia says. “This doesn’t have anything to do with Mia’s shooting. I’m here regarding your kidnapping by Mia.” Rebecca says. “I thought that case was closed after Lysandros was arrested.” Lydia says. “Not necessarily. There are still some loose ends to tie up, one of them being the three diamond jewels.” Rebecca says. “Well you already have the bracelet in the evidence locker, right?” Lydia asks. “Not exactly. Do you remember how you told me that you didn’t understand how the bracelet could have ended up at your house, since you weren’t hiding it there? Well as it turns out, the bracelet that was nearly stolen from your house wasn’t actually the real diamond bracelet.” Rebecca reveals. “It was a fake? That doesn’t make any sense. Who would have planted it there?” Lydia wonders. “It seems that the only likely candidates would be Mia Goo or Doctor Andropov, though I’m still not sure why they would have planted a fake bracelet. Anyways, the reason I’m here is because I need you to tell me where you hid the real diamond bracelet. It’s imperative that I get to it before anyone else can.” Rebecca says. Meanwhile, the visiting room door opens a crack and Zoey is revealed to be listening in outside the room…

At Julia’s penthouse, Julia is sitting on the sofa, working on her computer, when she hears a knock at the door. “Hold on a sec!” Julia calls out. Julia stands up, walks over to the door, and opens it to find Kaylie standing in the hallway. “Hi! Is this a bad time?” Kaylie asks. “Not at all! Come in.” Julia urges. Kaylie walks in. “I wasn’t expecting to see you this morning. Is everything okay?” Julia asks. “Yeah, everything is good. I was in the neighborhood dropping Issac off at daycare, so I thought I’d stop by and check on you.” Kaylie says. “Is there a reason you felt you needed to check on me?” Julia wonders. “I know that mama invited you out to breakfast with her, Bethany, Issac, and me and that you turned her down, I just wanted to make sure everything was okay.” Kaylie says. “Everything is fine, I just had an early morning meeting down at the prison.” Julia says. “You went to Baronville that early in the morning?” Kaylie asks. “I was visiting with Lydia.” Julia reveals. “Right, of course you were. Any particular reason?” Kaylie wonders. “I went to offer her a deal. I’d be willing to ask that Lydia be sentenced to twenty five years in prison with the possibility of parole in fifteen if she agreed to plead guilty.” Julia reveals. “And what did she say?” Kaylie asks. “She turned me down. In her delusional mind, she still believes she has a shot at beating these charges.” Julia says. “If she’s innocent, I could understand why she wouldn’t want to go for the deal.” Kaylie says. “It has nothing to do with being innocent, Kaylie. Lydia is used to getting away with things, she’s been doing it all her life! Every time she has ever gotten herself into trouble in the past, the solution has either been to have her committed or have her attend therapy. She’s not used to actually having to face the consequences of her actions.” Julia says. “That could be it, or she could actually be innocent.” Kaylie suggests. “She isn’t!” Julia snaps. “How can you be so sure?” Kaylie questions. “How can you be so sure that she is innocent?” Julia questions. “I never said I was! But our judicial system operates off of the belief that everyone is innocent until they’re proven guilty, and last I checked, Lydia hasn’t been convicted yet.” Kaylie says. “That’s just a formality at this point. Once this case goes to trial, the judge will find that Lydia shot Mia in cold blood, and Lydia will be put behind bars for the rest of her life. When that happens, there isn’t a damn thing that Lucas or her boat loads of money can do to save her.” Julia says.

At the courthouse, Don, Janice, and Reagan exit the conference room. “I can’t believe it! I cannot believe this! I’m actually free!” Janice exclaims. “Not just yet. You still need to go back to Colossal Heights so you can be formally released, but yes, it does look like your padded room days are over.” Reagan says. “I never thought this day would actually come! I cannot believe that I get to go home finally! It feels like it’s been a thousand years!” Janice says. “Just remember that you need to be on your best behavior. Someone will be checking in on you from time to time to make sure that you are behaving yourself and that you are on the path to becoming a productive member of society.” Reagan says. “Yes, of course. Thank you so much for helping me, Miss. Thorne.” Janice says. “If you want to thank me, pay your bill on time. You’ll be receiving it shortly. Enjoy your newfound freedom.” Reagan says, before walking off. Janice turns to face Don. “Wow, this is just so exciting!” Janice exclaims. “It is. Once everything is all cleared up at Colossal Heights, do you want to go to the Lakeside Diner and get a bite to eat to celebrate?” Don asks. Janice smiles. “I’d love that! Thank you for the support, Donny. It means the world to me.” Janice says. “You’re welcome.” Don says. Janice pulls Don into an embrace. “I can’t wait to be free again. There’s so much for me to do, so many people for me to see…” Janice says. “People like who?” Don questions. “People like…like my old friends back in New Hampshire, of course! I’ve gotta make a trip back to see the girls sometime!” Janice says. “Let’s get you settled in at home before we start planning any vacations, okay?” Don asks. Janice nods. “Okay, sounds good.” Janice says.

“That settles it then, I’m gonna propose to Kaylie and I am going to do it tonight.” Bethany says. “Tonight?! Damn girl, you don’t waste any time!” Virginia notes. “There’s no time like the present, right? That means I’ve gotta go buy a ring, and I need to find someplace romantic where I can pop the question…oooh, I know! It’s starting to get warmer outside, maybe I could borrow the rooftop pool again? You let me do it last year after I came home from visiting Brad and surprised Kaylie.” Bethany recalls. “If you want me to close down the pool for you and Kaylie, you know I’d be happy to do that. If people wanna use the pool, there’s always the indoor one. But before I go ahead and do that, you’re sure that you’re gonna propose tonight?” Virginia asks. “Absolutely. I’m more sure than anything, I want Kaylie to be my wife.” Bethany says. Virginia smiles. “Alright then, I’ll make the arrangements.” Virginia says. “Thank you. Before I go ahead and propose though, I just want to make sure you’re okay with Kaylie and I potentially getting married.” Bethany says. “What kind of silly question is that? I’m the one who brought up the word marriage earlier! I’m closing the pool so you’ve got someplace to propose! Of course I’m supportive of you and Kaylie getting married, baby! Not only do I support your relationship, but I support you. This isn’t the first time I’ve told you this, but you’re like a third daughter to me. You know I’d support you in anything you do.” Virginia says. Bethany smiles. “Thank you, Virginia. I really appreciate that, I appreciate you too.” Bethany says. “Now I’ve gotta ask, do you think it’s too soon for me to welcome you to the family?” Virginia asks. “Maybe, but that doesn’t mean we can’t rehearse.” Bethany says. Virginia chuckles. “Alright then, come here and give me a hug!” Virginia tells her. Virginia and Bethany stand up and embrace each other.

At Baronville, Zoey is still listening in as Lydia and Rebecca continue talking. “I don’t understand. With Mia dead and Lysandros in prison, why do you still want to find the jewels?” Lydia questions. “I don’t want to get into the details, it’s safer for you that I don’t, but I have it under good authority that someone else is trying to find the three diamond jewels. My goal is to collect all three of them first so that the other interested party isn’t able to do so.” Rebecca says. “And this other interested party, they wouldn’t have had anything to do with my kidnapping, would they?” Lydia asks. “Why would you ask that question?” Rebecca wonders. “Because it never sat right with me that Lysandros was behind all of it. He’s a treacherous son of a bitch to be sure, but I don’t know…this just didn’t seem like him. He doesn’t seem like the type who would have any interest in the three diamond jewels.” Lydia says. “Like I said, I’d rather not go into the details.” Rebecca says. “Rebecca, I was the one who was kidnapped. If there is more to the story than what you’re saying, I’d like to know about it, otherwise I’m not going to tell you where you can find the bracelet.” Lydia says. Rebecca sighs. “Fair enough. It’s still an ongoing investigation, so I’d rather not give you all of the details, but I’m certain that Lysandros isn’t the person who had you kidnapped. Mia lied in order to protect the true culprit and to secure herself an immunity deal.” Rebecca reveals. “That doesn’t make any sense though. Why wouldn’t Mia just give up the name of the person actually responsible?” Lydia wonders. “Because the person actually responsible has some considerable influence at the WPA, it’s how Mia managed to secure her immunity deal.” Rebecca reveals. “So then Lysandros has nothing to do with this.” Lydia assumes. “Not exactly. Years ago after your mother tried to use the three diamond jewels in Egypt, Lysandros went to the site of the pyramid explosion disguised as a WPA agent. He discovered all three of the jewels and then told Peter Wilson that he didn’t believe the jewels had survived the explosion. He then proceeded to pawn two of the jewels.” Rebecca says. “And the third?” Lydia asks. “It got stolen from him by some woman he met at a bar.” Rebecca reveals. Outside the visitor’s room, Zoey flashes back.

“I’ll have whatever you’re having.” Lysandros says. “Perfect. I’ll be just a minute.” The woman says. The woman walks over to the cabinet and opens it, revealing the mini bar. She pours two glasses of whiskey and then pulls a small container of powder out of her pocket. The woman dumps the whole container into one of the drinks and then mixes it in. The camera slowly pans up and reveals that the woman is Zoey Kellers! “That should be more than enough…” Zoey mutters. “Did you say something?” Lysandros asks. Zoey picks up the two glasses, turns towards him, and smiles. “It was nothing at all!” Zoey says, before handing Lysandros his glass…

Back in the present, Zoey smirks and continues listening in. “Any idea who this woman was?” Lydia questions. “None. The description Lysandros gave could describe a decent number of women in the world, there’s no way of narrowing it down to just one. We’re doing our best to find her though, but I’m sure the other interested party is doing the same. It’s not going to be easy though, which is why I’m working on collecting the jewels we do know the locations of, which would include the bracelet in your possession. Please Lydia, it would be a huge help if you would tell me where I can find it.” Rebecca says. “Yeah, of course. There’s a secret sub basement level at the Masters Corp office, you can get to it by punching in a code on the elevator keys. Once you get down there, there’s a long corridor that leads to a safe. The combination is my birth year.” Lydia reveals. Rebecca pulls out a notepad. “Wonderful. Can you tell me the combination for the elevator?” Rebecca asks. “59052.” Lydia says, as Rebecca writes it down. “Great. Thank you, you were a huge help.” Rebecca says. “I’m not sure how you plan on getting access to the basement. If I were still CEO, I’d let you down there, but Dylan is the CEO now.” Lydia notes. “Asking him for help is out of the question.” Rebecca says. “Because he isn’t trustworthy? Or because he’s somehow involved in the search for the three diamond jewels? I remember my mother once used him as a pawn when she was looking for them, similar to how she used V.J this time around.” Lydia recalls. “Like I said, I’d rather not get into the details. Thank you for your help, and please, try to hang in there. I know you’re innocent, and soon, the world will know it too.” Rebecca says. Lydia smiles. “Thank you.” Lydia says. “You’re welcome. Take care.” Rebecca says. “You too.” Lydia says. Rebecca stands up and walks out. Once Rebecca is gone, Zoey steps out from around the corner. “Well, well, well, it sounds as if that necklace I have may be worth more than I ever could have imagined. Now that begs the question, exactly how much can I get for it?” Zoey wonders…

“In the end, it doesn’t matter what you or I think about whether or not Lydia is innocent. At the end of the day, it’s going to be the jury’s decision.” Kaylie says. “Mmhm, and it’s my job to prove to them that Lydia is guilty as sin, just as it’s your job to collect enough evidence to back up my claims.” Julia says. “No Julia, my job is to get to the truth! Whether that be proving Lydia did shoot Mia in cold blood, or finding out that it was really self defense.” Kaylie says. “I know what the truth is.” Julia says. “You don’t know anymore than I do. The only two people that know for sure what happened are Lydia and Mia Goo, and Mia is dead.” Kaylie notes. “Well with or without Mia, I am going to shed light on what happened that day for all the world to see, and pretty soon, they will see what I know to be true, that Lydia Masters is a murderer and she deserves to be put away for life. There will be no more free passes for her, Kaylie, only justice.” Julia says. “That we can agree on. Justice will prevail, one way or another.” Kaylie says. “Is there anything else?” Julia asks. “No. I came to see why you missed breakfast with us, you told me it was because you were trying to push Lydia to plead guilty, that told me all I needed to know.” Kaylie says. “Do I detect resentment in your tone?” Julia asks. “You detect disappointment, sis. It’s obvious to me that you’re so devoted to this case because you are letting your anger towards Lucas and Lydia lead you around by the nose.” Kaylie says. “Oh don’t start with me, Kaylie!” Julia tells her. “Don’t start what? Calling you out? Believe it or not, I’m not doing this to ridicule you, I’m doing this to help you! Do you not realize that this sort of thing could tank your entire career? Do you really want to lose everything you’ve worked hard for over some dumb vendetta?” Kaylie asks. “I’m not listening to this, get out!” Julia demands. “What?” Kaylie asks. “You heard me! I’m not gonna stand here and listen to you accuse me of abusing my authority! I want you out and I don’t want to see you again unless you come with an apology in hand!” Julia snaps. “Well then I guess we won’t be seeing each other for a while. Just know that I never would’ve accused you if I wasn’t confident I was right. You’re playing a dangerous game, sis, and for your sake, I hope you realize it before it’s too late.” Kaylie says, before heading towards the door and walking out. Julia sighs. “You’re wrong, Kaylie. This has nothing to do with how I feel about Lydia and everything to do with making sure justice is served. I’m not gonna let her get away with this, not like how she’s gotten away with everything else in her life.” Julia mutters. Someone knocks on her door. “Come back to apologize already?” Julia calls out. Julia walks over to the door, opens it, and finds a hooded figure standing outside. “Uh, can I help you with something?” Julia asks. The hooded figure removes their hood and is revealed to be a very much alive Mia Goo! “Oh my god!” Julia gasps. “Surprise!” Mia exclaims!
