Fantastic S5 Episode 127(6/25/24)
At Slate Gray, Acerbi steps off of the elevator and approaches the door of a hotel room. Acerbi knocks on the door and begins hearing the bark of a small dog inside. The door opens and Scarlett is revealed to be holding a yorkie. “Doctor Acerbi, hi! This is a surprise.” Scarlett says. “I’m sorry for dropping by unannounced. I just wanted to stop by and see how Fantastic City was treating you. I wasn’t aware you had a dog.” Acerbi says. “Of course you weren’t, I didn’t mention it. This is Dixie.” Scarlett says. “Beautiful dog. How old?” Acerbi wonders. “Only three years old, but I’ve had her since she was eight weeks. I even got a tattoo of her paw print on my upper back, would you like to see?” Scarlett asks. Acerbi fakes a smile. “No thank you.” Acerbi says. “Well don’t just stand in the hallway. Come in.” Scarlett urges. Acerbi walks in and closes the door behind her. “I’m surprised an establishment like Slate Gray even allows pets in their hotel rooms.” Acerbi admits. “I haven’t gotten any complaints thus far.” Scarlett says. Acerbi attempts to pat Dixie but Dixie begins growling at her. “Not very friendly, is she?” Acerbi asks. “Dixie takes a while to warm up to people she doesn’t know well, I wouldn’t take it personally. So, you said you wanted to ask me how Fantastic City was treating me? That’s very considerate of you.” Scarlett says. “I’m a considerate person.” Acerbi claims. “Funny, that isn’t what I heard.” Scarlett says. “Don’t believe everything you hear.” Acerbi urges. “Well to answer your question, I’m really liking it here. The people are so nice here, with the exception of a few bad apples.” Scarlett says. “Are you referring to anyone in particular?” Acerbi wonders. “Well I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but apparently there is some maniac on the loose that kidnapped three people, one of them a toddler, and then shot some guy!” Scarlett says. “I have heard. The man who was shot is my nephew, one of the people who got kidnapped is my great niece.” Acerbi reveals. “Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. Any relation to the guy who did all this?” Scarlett wonders. “We…dated.” Acerbi says, under her breath. “What was that?” Scarlett asks. “I said we DATED!” Acerbi shouts. Dixie begins barking. “It’s okay, baby. Sorry, Dixie doesn’t like when you talk loud.” Scarlett says. “Is there anything that dog does like?” Acerbi mumbles. “So you and that psycho dated, huh? It must be really embarrassing for you that he went postal then.” Scarlett assumes. “We’ve been over for months.” Acerbi says. “Still. If it were me, I’d be ashamed to show my face out in public.” Scarlett says. “Somehow I doubt that.” Acerbi says. “Any idea how Dannie is doing? That Andy person must be related to them somehow.” Scarlett says. “Their brother. As for how Dannie is doing, they are a wreck.” Acerbi says. “Yeah, I can imagine. I can’t even fathom the thought of one of my siblings being in a position like that. I’ll be sure to pop in on Dannie later to make sure they’re doing okay.” Scarlett says. “I’m sure Dannie has plenty of support.” Acerbi says. “You can never have too much support. So, you came looking to find out how Fantastic was treating me, I told you. Is there anything else I can do for you?” Scarlett wonders. “There is. You can tell me how long you intend on staying for.” Acerbi says.
At the hospital, Dannie is sitting by Andy’s bedside when Serena appears in the doorway. “Oh, I didn’t know anyone else was here.” Serena says. “Serena! I didn’t realize you were coming back to Fantastic! It’s good to see you.” Dannie says. “Yeah, you too. Us coming back…it was kinda a last minute thing.” Serena says. “Us? Does that mean V.J is with you?” Dannie wonders. “Not here at the hospital, but he’s here in Fantastic.” Serena confirms. “How is he?” Dannie questions. “Still not 100%, but he felt like he needed to come home for his family.” Serena says. “I can understand that. God knows this family could use all the support it can get right now, with Andy in this bed and Ava missing.” Dannie says. “Has there been any change in his condition?” Serena wonders. “I’m afraid not.” Dannie admits. “I’m sorry. I’m a little surprised Rebecca isn’t here.” Serena says. “I ran into her on my way in earlier. I guess she has devoted all of her time to trying to find Lawrence, which I get. If Andy could talk, he’d probably tell Rebecca not to worry about him and to focus all of her energy on finding their daughter.” Dannie says. “Well I hope Rebecca is successful. After everything he’s done, Lawrence Stanpatos needs to be stopped for good.” Serena says.
At the Goo Castle, Rebecca runs into the living room and finds V.J and Jackie conversing. “Oh my goodness, V.J?” Rebecca asks. “Hey boss lady, good to see you!” V.J says, before hugging Rebecca. “You don’t need to call me that, you know. I’m not just your former boss, we’re family. What’s going on?” Rebecca wonders. “Jackie and I were just catching up. She and I met briefly years ago, back when Jackie was working with Peter.” V.J says. “I meant what’s going on with you being back. I didn’t realize you had completed your recovery.” Rebecca says. “I haven’t, but with everything going on, I figured I was needed here.” V.J says. “I appreciate that, but you should put your own health first.” Rebecca says. “I’m doing that just by being here. I’d be driving myself nuts, sitting in that hospital room not knowing what’s going on here, if you’re any closer to finding Lawrence. Speaking of, Jackie mentioned that you were following up on some kinda lead.” V.J says. “I was, and it may have panned out.” Rebecca says. “Do you have a location on Lawrence?” Jackie asks. “I have multiple locations, I just need to figure out which one Lawrence went to.” Rebecca says. Rebecca throws Stan’s journal onto the coffee table. “What’s that?” V.J wonders. “It belonged to your grandfather Stan.” Rebecca reveals. “The son of a bitch that tried to brainwash me?” V.J asks. “Mmhm. Turns out, he was the one who created the three diamond jewels.” Rebecca says. “Huh?!” A surprised V.J asks. “It’s a long story, but what’s important is that journal contains detailed descriptions on each of the weapons Stan developed, as well as their locations.” Rebecca says. “Oh my god! That could be the break in the case we were looking for!” Jackie states. “Absolutely. Now all we need to do is pinpoint which one Lawrence plans on using. Once we do that, we can go after him.” Rebecca says. “Before we go any further, I really feel like we should bring Ciara in on this.” V.J says. “V.J…” Rebecca begins. “I know that the two of you had a falling out, but she’s a trained WPA agent, and if you’re gonna take Lawrence on, you could use all the help you can get. I’m not suggesting you forgive her, all I’m saying is you should at least make a truce with her until this is all over.” V.J suggests. Rebecca sighs. “You’re right, I do need all the help I can get. Call her over. In the meantime, Jackie and I are going to look at this journal and see if we can find out where Lawrence is heading next.” Rebecca says. “Alright, sounds like a solid plan.” V.J says, before walking away and pulling out his phone.
In Scarlett’s hotel room at Slate Gray, Scarlett and Acerbi sit on the sofa. “As of right now, my stay in Fantastic is open ended.” Scarlett says. “You don’t have any business to get back to in Sydney?” Acerbi wonders. “My business is here, with my new hospital.” Scarlett says. “Isn’t it your father’s hospital?” Acerbi asks. “He’s given me full autonomy.” Scarlett says. “Out of curiosity, why buy the hospital in the first place? Fantastic City is a far way from home for you and your family.” Acerbi notes. “We have our reasons.” Scarlett says. “Do you plan on sharing any of those reasons?” Acerbi wonders. “Nope.” Scarlett answers. Acerbi smiles. “I didn’t think so. So no plans to return home anytime soon?” Acerbi wonders. “No whatsoever. Of course I’m gonna go back to Sydney at some point, but not until I’m comfortable enough with the state of the hospital, and confident enough that it’ll be able to run fine without my supervision.” Scarlett says. “I have been running this hospital without supervision for years.” Acerbi points out. “I think that’s part of the problem. Is there anything else I can do for you, Doctor Acerbi?” Scarlett wonders. “No, that will be all.” Acerbi says. Acerbi stands up and heads towards the door. “See you at work!” Scarlett calls out. Acerbi turns, glares at Scarlett, and then walks out. Scarlett looks down at Dixie. “Well she’s intense, no wonder you don’t like her. I know, she’s a mean old lady, isn’t she? Working with her is gonna be a real blast.” Scarlett sarcastically says.
At the hospital, King Beast walks in and finds Serena and Dannie with Andy. “My goodness, I didn’t realize it was so crowded in here.” King Beast says. “It’s okay, I was actually just leaving.” Serena says. “You don’t have to leave on my account. I’m sure Andy would be thrilled to have you here.” King Beast says. “As true as that probably is, I bet he’d much rather have his step dad by his side. It’s good to see you, King Beast.” Serena says. “You as well, Serena.” King Beast says. Serena walks past King Beast and exits the room. “Any change in his condition?” King Beast wonders, as he puts his hand on Dannie’s shoulder. “No…no change.” Dannie says. “This is absolutely awful. What happened to Andy, and then poor Ava. I can’t even imagine what she must be going through right now.” King Beast says. Dannie turns towards King Beast. “It’s all just so terrible! How could someone be so evil and cruel?” Dannie wonders. “I don’t know.” King Beast says. “With everything going on with Lawrence right now, I keep thinking about how there was a time when I thought he was my father. I’m so glad it turned out to be you. The thought of coming from such a despicable human being…it makes me sick to my stomach. And I know you’ve made your fair share of mistakes, but you’ve done everything you can to turn your life around. Lawrence doesn’t have any interest in changing, he probably never will! I just…I really hope that Andy wakes up and that Rebecca is able to rescue Ava and Dylan and Harper.” Dannie says. “I know, me too.” King Beast says, before pulling Dannie into a hug.
At the Goo Castle, Rebecca and Jackie are looking over Stan’s journal in the living room when V.J leads Ciara in. “Rebecca, V.J said that you’ve found a lead.” Ciara says. “I did. Did he tell you what the lead was?” Rebecca wonders. “Yeah, that journal apparently belongs to my grandfather. That’s completely nuts.” Ciara says. “Tell me about it. Anyways, Jackie and I were just going over the nine weapons Stan developed, trying to figure out which one of them Lawrence might be planning to use.” Rebecca says. “We can already rule out the heat machine, that was destroyed nine years ago.” Jackie says. “Great, which leaves only eight. Can’t be too hard, right?” V.J sarcastically asks. “I actually don’t think this will be as difficult as you may think. A lot of these weapons are weapons of mass destruction, designed to wipe out entire nations, possibly even the entire planet.” Rebecca says. “Isn’t that what Lawrence wants?” V.J asks. “I don’t think so. I think if anything, Lawrence would want to rule the world, not destroy it. Now obviously there isn’t any kind of device that would give him that sort of power, but he could use one of them to coerce world leaders into surrendering control to him.” Rebecca says. “So I guess that begs the question, which of these weapons is most likely to make that happen?” Jackie wonders. “After looking at them all, I think this one makes the most sense.” Rebecca says, pointing at a spot in the journal. “A satellite dish orbiting earth capable of firing lasers.” Jackie says. “It says here that the power of the lasers can be adjusted, to the point where it could be weak enough to destroy one single house, or strong enough to obliterate an entire country.” Rebecca says. “Which would definitely fall in line with what Lawrence probably wants to use the diamond jewels for.” Ciara notes. “Let me see those coordinates real fast…” Jackie says, as she peeks in the book and types the coordinates into her phone. “Okay, I’ve got it! Obviously we can’t reach the satellite dish, but the coordinates are likely for the computer that controls it.” Jackie says. “Where’s the computer?” V.J wonders. “The coordinates pinpoint a location in the middle of the East Siberian Sea, a small deserted island.” Jackie says. “Maybe not so deserted now.” Ciara adds. “You should give this information to your superiors at the WPA, Jackie. Maybe they can put a team together.” Rebecca suggests. “It won’t do any good. That island is located in Russia, and unfortunately the WPA doesn’t have permission to run any ops in Russia. I’m gonna have to sit this one out.” Jackie says. “Then it looks like I’ll be going there instead.” Rebecca says. “Not alone. I’m coming too.” Ciara says. “Me too.” V.J adds. “Don’t try arguing with them. You could really use the backup.” Jackie says. “Agreed. Okay, looks like we’ll be traveling to the East Siberian Sea.” Rebecca says. Meanwhile, Colin is in the foyer, his ear pressed against the living room door…
