Fantastic S5 Episode 37(12/18/23)
At the Lakeside Diner, Ava is sitting at a table texting when Daisy walks in and spots her. “Oh my god, Ava?” Daisy asks. Ava looks up and sees Daisy. “Daisy!” Ava exclaims. “Wow, its been forever since I last saw you! You've grown up a lot, haven't you?” Daisy asks. “Its what people keep telling me. How are you? How is everything?” Ava questions. “Things are going really well, actually. I'm sure you've probably heard by now that I'm a new mom.” Daisy says. “I did hear that, congrats.” Ava says. “Thanks. I also just got a new job which I'm really excited about.” Daisy says. “Me too! What are you doing now?” Ava asks. “I am the new CEO of New Horizons Media. Your uncle Lysandros hired me.” Daisy reveals. “Awesome! I actually just got hired as an intern at Stanpatos Enterprises, I'll be working with my uncle Dylan.” Ava says. “That's pretty cool. I can't imagine your parents are too happy about you going to work there.” Daisy says. “Oh, they absolutely HATE it, especially my mom.” Ava says.
In Rebecca's office, Rebecca is staring at the diamond bracelet. “I can't believe this…there's no way this could be that particular bracelet, and yet it looks identical…” Rebecca says. “I'm sorry but I'm lost. What's this about three legendary diamond jewels?” Don asks. “Its a pretty sorted story. Years ago, Lydia's mother Madeline was after these three pieces of jewelry, a bracelet, a ring, and a necklace. Now apparently these jewels had some sort of mystical powers because Madeline had intended to use them to power this device she had created, one capable of causing a global heat wave hot enough to kill the world's population.” Rebecca says. “That's pretty insane. Well we're still alive so obviously Madeline didn't succeed.” Don notes. “No. Once Madeline had all three jewels, she fled to a pyramid in Egypt where she had her device stashed away. Andy, his brother Peter, and myself tracked Madeline to Egypt and we were able to stop her from executing her plan.” Rebecca says. “I guess I and the rest of the world owe you a thank you then. So what became of the three jewels?” Don asks. “The pyramid self destructed and the jewels were presumably destroyed. Peter worked for the WPA and he searched the sight of the explosion, he couldn't find any trace of the three jewels.” Rebecca says. “So naturally Peter deduced the jewels didn't survive the explosion.” Don says. “Which doesn't appear to be the case. It seems somehow Lydia ended up with the diamond bracelet before she died and someone else figured out that she had it. The question is, who is this person and why would they be interested in the diamond jewels?” Rebecca wonders.
At an outdoor cafe somewhere, Mia is sitting at a table disguised when a man walks up to her and sits across from her. “Do you have any news?” Mia asks. “I'm afraid we still haven't been able to locate Lydia Masters.” The man says. “Good god, I pay to produce results, not give me yet another dose of no news! Oh how I miss Gus, he would've found Lydia days ago!” Mia states. “You killed Gus, Madam.” The man points out. “My relationship with him was complex! Just because I killed him doesn't mean I didn't care for him! But enough about him, you need to get back out there searching for Lydia!” Mia says. “Of course, but madam, the more we search for Lydia and come up empty, the more I begin to suspect she's dead. Think about it! She seemingly fled the island by boat, there was a terrible storm not long after. I'm sorry, but I'd say the chances of her surviving the storm are slim to none.” The man says.
Lydia and Brody are in Lydia's room on Brody's ship. “You seriously think I'm going to get you immunity?” Lydia asks. “I don't think its a tall order, especially taking into consideration what I'm offering you.” Brody says. “Its a tall order because I'm not the District Attorney!” Lydia says. “Pretty sure my crimes are far above the District Attorney's head, we're talking on a federal level.” Brody says. “And you think I can help with that?” Lydia questions. “You're a powerful woman with some notable connections, I'm sure you could figure something out.” Brody says. “And if I can't? And I just supposed to stay on your boat indefinitely?” Lydia asks. “Of course not. I’m sure Mia is probably still looking for you, perhaps even willing to buy you off me for a reasonable price.” Brody says. “You are unbelievable…” Lydia says. “Maybe, but I’m also your only hope of ever going home again. But before we waste any more time going back and forth, do you think its possible you’d be able to get me immunity?” Brody questions. “I may know someone within the U.S government that could make that happen.” Lydia admits. Brody smiles. “Excellent. Now that we’ve gotten that taken care of, are you willing to give me what I want in exchange for safe passage back to Fantastic? Or should I make some inquiries to find out where Mia is hiding so I can deliver you to her?” Brody asks.
At the Lakeside Diner, Daisy sits across from Ava. “So Rebecca doesn’t like the idea of you working for Stanpatos Enterprises? I can’t say I find that too surprising.” Daisy says. “I mean, technically both Mom and Dad hate the idea, but Mom really, REALLY hates it, which is rich because they’re the ones who wanted me to get a job in the first place.” Ava says. “So then what’s the big deal? Are they afraid Dylan is going to corrupt you?” Daisy wonders. “No, they’re afraid Uncle Lawrence is going to corrupt me. I get that they’ve had issues with him in the past, but he’s been really nice to me, including getting Uncle Dylan to give me this job. Besides, he doesn’t even work at Stanpatos Enterprises!” Ava points out. “That is a very good point. Did you mention that to your parents?” Daisy asks. “I did, it didn’t do any good. They think Uncle Lawrence never would’ve gotten me the job if he didn’t have some kind of agenda.” Ava says. “Or maybe they’re just overreacting and all Lawrence wants to do is help out his niece.” Daisy suggests. “Thank you! But of course Mom and Dad aren’t gonna see it that way, they see conspiracies around every freaking corner! Must be the cop in them.” Ava says. “I’m sorry they’re making things tough for you.” Daisy says. “Thanks, but I’m used to it. They’ve always been pretty over protective of me.” Ava says. “And I get that, but you’re an adult now, more than capable of making your own choices. If you really want to work at Stanpatos Enterprises, that’s your choice.” Daisy says. “Thank you! Finally someone sees things from my point of view!” Ava says. “You know I’m always on your side. Even though your Dad and I haven’t been together in years, I still look back fondly on the little bit of time you and I spent together.” Daisy says. Ava smiles. “Me too, even though things took a pretty nasty turn in the end there. You were always pretty good to me though, which makes it difficult to hate you.” Ava says. Daisy smiles. “Aww, thanks.” Daisy says. “Anyways, I really should be going. It was really nice seeing you again.” Ava says. “Great seeing you too! Hopefully I’ll be seeing you around more often.” Daisy says. “Well I am going to have to stop by the mansion to meet my new baby cousin sometime.” Ava notes. “Harper and I can’t wait.” Daisy says. Ava stands up. “Bye Daisy.” Ava says, before walking out. Once Ava is gone, Daisy smirks, pulls out her phone and makes a call. “Betty, its me. I have this great idea for a story for the gossip column, I really think you’re going to love it. It involves tension inside the Goo family, particularly between Andy, Rebecca, and their daughter.” Daisy says…
“How can you be sure this is the same diamond bracelet from years ago?” Don wonders. “I spent enough time around the jewels to know what they look like. I mean, I suppose the bracelet could be a counterfeit, but even if it was, we have to wonder what Lydia was doing with it, and why someone was convinced that the real bracelet is out there.” Rebecca says. “Do you think Madeline Masters could be trying to pick up where she left off?” Don asks. “Its possible, but at the same time, Madeline’s machine was destroyed when the pyramid self-destructed. She would have needed to have built a new machine.” Rebecca says. “Still doesn’t answer the question about what Lydia was doing with the bracelet.” Don notes. “It doesn’t, and unfortunately we may never know why Lydia had it given the fact that she’s dead. Still though, we need to make finding out who Carlo was working for a priority. Those three pieces of jewelry are incredibly dangerous and if someone out there is trying to collect them, we need to know who he or she is so we can stop them.” Rebecca says.
“Your lack of faith in Lydia’s survival just shows what a total dolt you are!” Mia says. “And you have faith that Lydia survived? I thought you hated her.” The man says. “I do hate her! In fact, I find her to be utterly deplorable! Her very existence repulses me! However, that doesn’t mean I lack confidence in her ability to survive the elements. Lydia is far more resilient than most people think, I’ve come to learn that from personal experience, which is exactly why I’m still not convinced that she’s dead.” Mia says. “Well I’m not sure what else I can really do, madam. Lydia left the island days ago. If she is alive, there’s really no way of knowing where she is.” The man says. “No, but we do know where she is going.” Mia says. “We do?” The man asks. “Yes, you buffoon! Keep up! All Lydia has been going on about these past few months is how she wants to return home to her fiance Lucas, which means she is likely trying to find her way back to Fantastic City! So, if we wish to recapture Lydia or kill her even, we just need to intercept her once she arrives in Fantastic City.” Mia says. “What if she doesn’t show?” The man asks. Mia smiles. “Oh she will, my dear. Lydia may be resilient but she is also devastatingly predictable, and that is going to be her downfall.” Mia says.
In Lydia’s room on Brody’s ship, Lydia turns her back to Brody. “You are taking an awfully long time to say yes.” Brody notes. “That’s because I’m having a difficult time wrapping my head around this. In order for me to go home, I have to not only pay you a ridiculous amount of money, but I also need to secure you your freedom.” Lydia says. “A small price to pay for the chance to be reunited with your loved ones, with Lucas. Surely you do want to see him again.” Brody says. “Of course I want to see Lucas again!” Lydia snaps. “Well then the only way that’s going to happen is if you agree to my demands! You’re a smart woman, Lydia. You know there’s no other way.” Brody says. “If I agree to this, I’ll be responsible for letting you back out onto the streets.” Lydia notes. “Would you believe me if I told you I’d be a good boy from now on?” Brody asks. “No!” Lydia snaps. “Oh well, it was worth a shot.” Brody says. “Fine!” Lydia tells him. “Fine what?” Brody questions. “You have yourself a deal. Not only will I pay you for your help, I’ll talk to my contact to see what I can do about getting the charges against you dismissed.” Lydia says. Brody smiles. “You won’t regret this.” Brody says. “I already regret this.” Lydia argues. “Then maybe this will cheer you up. The next time this boat docks, we’ll be in Fantastic City. You’re going home, Lydia.” Brody tells her. Lydia smiles. “I’m finally going home.” Lydia repeats.
In Rebecca's office, Rebecca is staring at the diamond bracelet. “I can't believe this…there's no way this could be that particular bracelet, and yet it looks identical…” Rebecca says. “I'm sorry but I'm lost.
